After weeks of big screen craze about Jawaan, this week has some surprising releases. While Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War is releasing this week, Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi’s comedy Fukrey 3 will see a huge drama at the box office. Meanwhile, OTT also has some good releases including the Jimmy Shergill-led Chuna as well as The Mystery of Solang Valley, a crime thriller based on a book by C Harley Chopra and Agatha Christie.
Fukrey 3 (Theatre, September 29)
The film is set to follow Fukrey 3 original characters as they engage in yet another chaotic adventure while trying to win a political war with a gullible Punjaban. This time the Fukrey 3 heroes have another power besides luck that can help them. The trailer shows that Chucha gains a new power as his urine turns into gunpowder.
The Vaccine War (Theatre, September 29)
The film is based on a team of doctors developing an indigenous BBV152 vaccine known as Covexin. The trailer also reveals that the film will cover India’s political and media coverage and public perception during the pandemic.
Saw X (Theatre, September 29)
The theatrical release is a sequel to the hit slasher franchise. It follows John Kramer who searches for a miracle cure but the experimental medical procedure he started in Mexico turns out to be a hoax. After being conned, John reverts to his old ways and lures his dupes into a twisted and cunning trap.
Spider-Man-Across the Spider-Verse (Netflix, October 1)
The biggest animated film of this year is all set to release on OTT with the name Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse. The film takes Miles into the Spider-Verse as he begins to learn more about the multiverse and how his story unfolds. However, unwilling to accept that, he makes things worse with his friends and his family instead of fixing them.
Choona (Netflix, September 29)
The Netflix release, directed by Jimmy Shergill, follows a group of dimwitted dogs who set out to take revenge on a politician turned local gang leader. The trailer shows the Babas and their faith in religious superstitions and the only way to follow their beliefs. The group paid the politician Rs. 800 crores fraud was planned.
Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley (Sony Liv, September 27)
Based on Agatha Christie’s book, the film follows Charlie Chopra, a self-proclaimed spy, but this time she is trying to clear the name of her fiancé, who has been framed. in a murder. However, as he sets out to find the truth, he becomes the next target of the real killer.
Tumse Na Ho Payega (Disney+Hotstar, 29 September)
Starring Ishwak Singh, Mahima Makwana and Gaurav Pandey, the film is based on Varun Aggarwal’s book How I Braved Anu Aunty and co-founded A Million Dollar Company. The trailer shows Gaurav losing his job which he had no interest in. After deciding that he wants to spend time on some things he cares about, he is ready to start a business but not everyone is in favor of the idea.
