The basic theme of the film is the massive rescue operation that saved 65 lives in the 1989 coal mine disaster in Raniganj, West Bengal. Mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill risked his life to save the workers trapped in the mine. However, unfortunately 6 people lost their lives. Although the matter did not come to light at the time, Jaswant shined as a hero behind the scenes. Awarded Best Life Saving Medal by President in 1991. Now a film has been made on this incident.
The film is directed by Tini Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani. Akshay Kumar is paired with Parineeti Chopra.
